Charging Cables for Electric Vehicles using a charging station
This page gives you an overview of all available charging cables of Soolutions for your electric vehicle. After you have selected the type of the on-board charging port of your vehicle (use the filter Plug Type: Vehicle Side), a list will show you every product we have for the specified type. Please make sure you select the correct type of the on-board charging port of your EV. An easy way to double check is to look at the product pictures of the products you are interested in.
If the electric vehicle side connector layout matches your on-board loader layout, you can be sure the cable will fit. Also, please double-check the required power level to avoid buying a charging cable which will slow your charging process or a charging cable that does not allow you to use the extra speed because your on-board loader is limited to a lower maximum. If you have questions to identify the optimal charging cable for you, do not hesitate and give us a call or e-mail us.
Buy a reliable charging cable
In the Soolutions Shop you will find different types of charging cables. The main difference is in brand, length and amperage. Every charging cable at Soolutions is reliable and durable. In this way, the charging cable becomes an investment that you will enjoy for a long time. In addition, you can simply add a charging cable bag to protect your charging cable in the Soolutions Shop or buy it later.
Which charging cable do I need?
When buying a charging cable for your electric car, there are a few things to consider. In the following sections, we will outline the most important topics so that you can make an informed decision:
Type 1, Type 2 or Type 3?
The connection on the vehicle side can be a type 1 or type 2 connection. When purchasing a charging cable, it is important to know whether your car requires a type 1 charging cable or a type 2 charging cable (Mennekes). As a rule of thumb, European electric vehicles often require a charging cable with a type 2 connector. American or Japanese vehicles usually have a type 1 connection. Please note: Please check this in advance as there may also be deviations. Type 3 is a French standard and can usually be found on the charging station side.
1 phase or 3 phases?
There are also charging cables with 1 and 3 phases. The electric vehicle charges less quickly with a 1 phase charging cable than with a 3 phase charging cable. However, it does not always make sense to purchase a 3 phase charging cable. First, a 3 phase charging cable can only be used for electric vehicles with a Mennekes connector on the vehicle side (type 2). In addition, the vehicle's internal charger must also support 3 phase charging.
